Day 01

AIRPORT - SAN JOSE

Meeting and greeting by our representative. Ground transfer to the Best Western Irazu Hotel in San José

Day 02

DOWNTOWN CITY TOUR

After breakfast, we will pick you up at the hotel and then take you for a half day city tour visiting residential areas, government institutions, main parks, and handcraft shops.  

Day 03

TURU – BARI TROPICAL PARK

After breakfast we will proceed to the biggest and most complete park in Central America. In 495 acres, you will discover the beauty of butterfies, a tree fossil, the unique botanical collections, the most amazing forest trails, thrilling adventure tours, Costa Rica cultural history, and more… Ride on a aerial tramway spanning 2,000 ft. at a height of 265 ft., featuring the latest European technology and breathtaking views of Turu Bari Tropical Park. Enjoy a Costa Rican lunch and then discover the Countryside Farm.

Day 04

ARENAL – TABACON OVERNIGHT

After breakfast, we embark on a very scenic excursion so that you will enjoy our beautiful countryside and agricultural fields en route to the majestic Arenal Volcano National Park on the northeast lowlands. A visit to the Tabacón Hotsprings will allow us to view the incredible activity of the active conic crater. We will enjoy a spectacular buffet dinner  before we take you to your nearby hotel.  

Day 05

ARENAL AREA – SAN JOSE

After breakfast, you can enjoy the hotel facilities while viewing the Arenal Volcano activity. At noon we will pick you up in order to transfer you back to the Best Western Irazu Hotel in San José. Rest of day at leisure.  

Day 06

IRAZU VOLCANO & CARTAGO CITY

After breakfast, we will ascend the majestic Irazú Volcano (11.000 feet above sea level) in the province of Cartago. After admiring the enormous crater and breathtaking views (both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans on a clear day!), we will descend and continue our tour to the historical city of Cartago.  Here we will visit the mysterious ruins of the old Parish and view the beautiful Basilica of our "Virgen de los Angeles" with rich displays of carvings, statues and art. We will then return you to your hotel so can eat lunch and relax.

Day 07

Day at leisure for relaxing, local shopping or optional tour. (White water rafting, coffee tour or local folklore  tour.)

Day 08

Transfer to airport.
