To get to Playa Carrillo, you should take the 43 km route Nicoya- Curime- Caimital- Belén- Terciopelo- Maquenco- Sámara- Carillo.
Carillo Beach is one of the finest in the Country. The 3 km long beach in its natural state is bordered with coconut trees, forested hills and cliffs. It is close by to Playa Garza and Playa Camaronal.
The pounding of the sea against the cliffs, the cristal cler water, the fine white sands, the constant sunshine and a sense of peace are the mayor features of this remote site in the Pacific coast. Walks can be taken along the rocky platforms at low tide where some marine life can be observed, especially in the little tidal pools.
The major attractions of the developped sectors of the coast are the large number of hotels geared to international tourism, the little village of Carillo and the Sangrado estuary. The climat is very hot and dry from December to the end of April, and hot and humid the rest of the year. The average annual temperature is almost invariable from month to month and ranges between 26°C and 28°C.
