Guanacaste,

The aim here is to protect and restore the edges of the River Tempisque from the confluence with the River Ahogados to the border of the Palo Verde National Park. The best way to observe the many species of water birds that breed and feed in this wetland, including several species of ibis, herons and egrets, is by boat along the river.
