Guanacaste

This is made up of the Estero Largo and Potrero Largo lagoons in the basin of the Cañas river. They constitute a very important feeding and breeding site for a large variety of water birds, some with very small populations. A dirt road leaves Coyolito near Santa Cruz and leads to the edge of this wetland.
