Limón

It includes the very beautiful Bonilla and Bonillita lagoons, which originated in tectonic meanders. In these lagoons there are lots of river turtles (Chrysemys ornata) and (Rhinoclemmys funerea) and poison dart frogs (Dendrobates pumilio), and in the surrounding forests, chestnut-mandibles toucans (Ramphastos swainsonii), oropendolas (Psaracolius montezuma and P. wagleri) and green-backed herons (Butorides virescens) are very numerous. These lagoons are located on the edges of the Reventazón river near the Lajas-Bonilla Abajo road and are accessible from that road.
