Well, here's just one item. There are so many things wrong with Joern's websites that giving him just one hint won't help him too much, but it could save your site from getting penalized. Here's how. Joern Malek bragged a number of months back about a new server, with virtually unlimited disk space and internet bandwidth. Let's take a look at that new server. Looking above, you will see that upon the single IP address that 1-costaricalink.com (dash - ) is located, that server also hosts 694 other websites. Below is a list of the 695 sites on that server. A great deal of them are X rated sites! In fact, out of the first 15 from the top of the list down, 14 of them you will recognize as Joern's sites. And, the "X" sites you see below are only part of all of them at that server IP address. Please understand that I am not passing any opinion on X rated sites, but other people, and search engines, may and do. By itself, being on the same server as an X rated sites may not hurt you, but it throws up a red flag, and then, in conjunction with other things wrong with a site, it may tip the SEO (search engine optimization) scale against you - and Joern has plenty of other red flags, questionable practices, which I won't mention here.

In contrast to the above, the IP address of www.1CostaRicaLink.com,
below, hosts no other websites, and creates no questionable associations.

The sad thing about this is that Joern unwittingly, or maybe knowingly, places his website clients into the same "bad neighborhood".  Looking further down the list, (above), you will see, for instance, Solid car rental . com, one of his clients, who, unfortunately, has little or no search engine ratings under Mr. Malek's, or Flamingolink's stewardship.

Moreover, besides the effect this has on search engine optimization, it also may put all Joern's sites, and his clients' websites, on target for banning by states, regions or countries that object to X rated sites. In some cases, banning of X rated sites cannot occur by domain name, but only by server IP address. If that occurs, an additional spin-off of this poor server choice by Mr. Malek would then be reduced traffic for whatever advertising you have placed upon any of his sites. Additionally, it almost goes without saying, but one should never engage in a link exchange program with such a site(s). You do not want to associate with "bad neighborhoods," as search engines will penalize you for "voting" for that website if you link to it.

Go with a winner - the ORIGINAL www.1CostaRicaLink.com, owned and managed by Forrest Geiger, and for your protection, avoid 1-costaricalink.com (dash - ) and the Flamingolink SA sites.

NOTE: Within two weeks of posting this, Joern is on a new server, with no one else, except all his Flamingolink sites and the few of his clients....

ADVERTISER WARNING UPDATE MARCH 17, 2007
It has been reported to me by a number of my clients that Joern continues to approach them with his glowing traffic statistics, asking them to advertise on his site. I have seen this going on for well over a year - his "unexplainable" high statistics, although I am consistently ahead of him for all manner of tourism search results, such as in costa rica resorts, hotels, vacations, vacation rentals, all inclusive, costa rica real estate, etc.. Where, then, does his high Alexa ratings and traffic come from???

The answer is that it is a well known fact that one of the most frequently searched terms and keyword sets on the internet has to do with s-e-x!   Joern has done a magnificient job of optimizing his website and capitalizing on his s-e-x related ratings to increace his traffic statistics so he can attract advertisers. Look at thses search results below that were done this morning on Google.com. They are consistent with his ratings for these keyword sets for a very long time.

Joern also had published for a long time, recently removed, an article written by a contributor extoling the benefits of paid s-e-x with the ladies of Costa Rica. In addition, although nudity is not allowed on public beaches, he has nude pictures of his wife, Angela, taken on various beaches, and these he publishes on 1DASHcostaricalink.com! For a sample, check out his # 3 picture gallery of Manuel Antonio, as a starter. There are many more. Is there any doubt left in anyone's mind why we didn't get along as partners?

So, the question is, do you want to advertise on his highly rated website that targets s-e-x and a particular type of tourist? If you are some of the "nightclubs" he advertises, the answer to that question would be a "yes." But, for most of the advertisers in the tourism sector, and for the betterment of Costa Rica, the answer is "no." Don't be fooled by his supposedly great ratings. Advertisers - beware of the DASH.

Also, when purchasing advertising, make sure are dealing with the right 1 Costa Rica Link. I am still receiving complaints from people, like this advertisor, who thought they were dealing with my website, not Joern's 1DASHcostaricalink.
