Park Entrance Fee: $6 US per person. Children under 12 free. Hours: 7 am-4 pm (closed Monday). You can tour the park on your own or hire a bilingual naturalist guide. There are approximately 150,000 visitors per year. The land area: 687 hectares (1,700 acres). The Marine Reserve area is 55,000 hectares (135,905 acres). The climate is tropical, 23°-35°, so dress comfortably. There are more than 185 mammal species, 224 bird species, 60 species of fish and 4 turtle species lay their eggs on the beach. There are restrooms, showers, drinking water, an information desk and picnic areas. Serviced by the local airlines of Sansa and Travel Air. It is a 3 1/2 - 4 hours scenic drive over good roads from San José, the Capital. |
