Four of the country's most popular destinations:
Poás Volcano National Park, La Paz and San Fernando waterfalls, Sarapiquí River and Braulio Carrillo National Park. Poás Volcano features two impressive craters: one active with sulfuric smoke often rising out of the boiling, muddy lake on its bottom, and an extinct one, today a beautiful crater lagoon. The road to the park passes picturesque villages, coffee plantations, dairy farms and spectacular views.
We visit la Paz and and San Fernando waterfalls an the way to the Sarapiquí area, where we board a boat that takes us down the Sarapiquí River. The boat trip is an opportunity for nature lovers to observe animals like iguanas, monkeys crocodiles and numerous bird species in the lush vegetation.
Following a succulent lunch, we'll have the opportunity to walk through a primary forest. Finally, the journey back to San José takes us through the pristine Braulio Carrillo National Park.
Price per person of one day tour: U.S.D. 79.-, includes lunch, transportation, biligual guide, entrance fee and taxes
