Carara National Park is a relatively small Park with only 4,700 hectares. The importance of Carara stems from its location in a transition area between the Tropical Dry Forest region to the north and the Pacific Rain Forest to the south. Carara has flora and fauna from both ecosystems. The virgin forest that covers most of the reserve is the ideal invironment for an abundance of flora and species of fauna like crocodiles, ocelots, sloths, monkeys, scarlet macaws (logo of 1costaricalink.com), the Collared Aracari (Pteroglossus torquatros) toucans, trogons and three species of monkeys. Many other species of the Tropical Forest can be seen also. If you came to Costa Rica to enjoy the splendid tropical plants and wildlife, this is the tour for you ! Price per person for one day U.S.D. 75.00, includes: transportation, entrance fees, lunch, bilingual guide and taxes.
