Curú Wildlife Reserve

Family-owned Curú Wildlife Reserve is one of the ecologically richest preserves in the Nicoya Peninsula. It is on a picturesque cup-shaped bay with warm, gentle waters and a gently sloping sandy beach. Once a working farm, it now protects tropical moist forest, high-salinity mangrove swamps and a lagoon. Howler and white-faced monkeys, coatimundis, iguanas, and more than 150 species of birds can be seen close to the 11 hiking trails. Curú is working to reintroduce spider monkeys and scarlet macaws back into the wild.

A guided visit through a beautiful biological reserve, where you’ll see just about every animal species this region has to offer. We will also walk to the Curú, isolated beach. This stroll includes soft drinks, a telescope and, depending on the season, the rare treat of wild fruits.
