The next stop was at the home and studio of Miguel Angel Brenes, former painter turned to his true love - sculpting. Using the media of wood, bronze and cultured marble, his emphasis is on female and family forms in motion - "El Eterno Femenino" as his simple brochure states. His work adorns the outside and inside of his house, with other works in various stages of progression in his studio. Having given over 50 private and collective exhibits, his work is well known here and throughout Central America. Spending long hours alone in his studio, he is reflective and quiet spoken, but friendly, even inviting us to pick some tangerines from trees in his front yard as we left!
