SAN JOSE CITY

San José central location allows it to have direct access routes to all parts of the country. It has a pleasant climate and temperate weather making it one of the most populated provinces in Costa Rica. Today thousands of visitors seek out the Central Highlands, where coffee-covered mountains lead into a lush green valley.

Day 1 : Arrival to San José

At arrival to the Juan Santamaría International airport private transfer will be provided to your hotel in San José.

Day 2 : City Tour

Starting on the East side of San José, the first thing we will see is Democracy Plaza and the National Museum, the Courts, Los Yoses, San Pedro Mall, Hispanidad Fountain and the Rodrigo Facio Campus of the University of Costa Rica.
After you have seen the capital's main attractions, our first stop will be the impressive Pre-Columbian Gold Museum and the beautiful National Theater where we will have a guided visit through these cultural gems, then visit La Sabana Metropolitan Park, Costa Rican Contemporary Art Museum among other important sites. At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity of visiting an interesting shopping place where you will be able to buy souvenirs.

Day 3 : Poás Volcano and Doka Coffee Plantation

Take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela. In this route you will pass coffee plantations, fern, flower and strawberry farms. You will experience an obvious change in the temperature and in the vegetation during your ascend to the exuberant cloud forest of Poás Volcano.
At the Volcano you will have time to observe the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles. Then we will hike on a trail to the beautiful Botos Lagoon that will allow us to learn about the different ecosystems in the park. Continue the trip to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a natural park with hiking trails to 5 different waterfalls, butterfly observatory, Serpentarium, Ranarium and Hummingbird area. Then you will be set off for a delicious lunch buffet and then begin the return trip to San Jose.
