Day 1 : San José - Arenal

Pick up at arrival to the Juan Santamaría International Airport or at your hotel in San José.
Private transfer to Arenal, La Fortuna. Duration 3 hours approximately

Day 2 : Horseback riding to La Fortuna Waterfall

Today enjoy the following activities:
Morning Horseback riding to La Fortuna Waterfall
A beautiful example of the Costa Rican country site will be found along the way, cattle farms and agriculture, also the chance to see some birds as oropéndolas and toucans. After that you have to walk five hundred meters into the forest to get to the waterfall, which is 70 meters high. At the base of the waterfall there is a "natural pool" where we can swim in the fresh water of La Fortuna river for about one hour.
Arenal by Night & Tabacón Hot Springs Tour
The Arenal Volcano is active since 1968, it constantly ejects gases, water, fumaroles and explosions with pyroclastic material emissions, and sometimes the eruptions are accompanied with powerful thunders. The lava flows come out of the crater with a temperature up to 1 000 Centigrade. As the lava flows down it slowly cools off. A short hike in one of the trails close to the volcano area will give you the chance to enjoy some forest and the activity around it. Later at the hot springs you can enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak, it is also possible to see the Arenal Volcano erupting from a comfortable spa. On this tour you can choose between: Tabacón, Ecotermales, and Baldí Hot Springs (upon availability).

Day 3 : Arenal-Monteverde

This morning service is on a minivan - boat - minivan transfer, a scenic ride through the Arenal Lake to Monteverde Cloud forest area. Duration 2 1/2 hours
Arenal Lake is the largest and the most important lake in Costa Rica, it was man made in 1974 to provide hydroelectric energy for the country. It is also a place where you can find different kinds of resident and migratory birds. Sometimes mammals can be seen in the surroundings, also great views of the Arenal Volcano when it's clear. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is one of the most outstanding wild life sanctuaries in the tropics. This high elevation rain forest offers miles of trails with excellent opportunities for bird watching.

Day 4 : Monteverde Original Canopy Tour

After breakfast, enjoy the following activity:
Monteverde Original Canopy Tour
The tour is located in a private reserve behind the Cloud Forest, a few minutes drive from downtown Santa Elena. It starts with a short, guided hike through the private 70-acre reserve of the Cloud Forest. The first part of the tour will take you through primary and secondary forest. As you fly through the treetops listen closely for the vast variety of birds that can be seen and heard throughout the preserve. Then, just when you think you have become one with the canopy we get your blood pumping with a drop back down to the forest floor. The tour ends with an exhilarating rappel down from "Scary Tree".
Please note that the minimum age in our Costa Rican locations is 5 years old. There is a weight restriction of about 265 pounds although the weight is more a function of body shape than weight itself.

At our traditional house, you'll enjoy a friendly atmosphere and the delicious, seductive aroma of one of the best coffees in the world. Along with your exquisite cup of coffee, you can try one of our typical snacks. Finally, you can purchase a wide variety of fresh roasted and packaged coffee.
The specialized guides will point out the most important aspects of coffee, its harvest and processing. They'll take you through the history of this crop from its beginnings in the Arab African countries and Ethiopia, and highlight they they'll highlight the importance the "golden bean" has had in the social, cultural and economic development of Costa Rica.
