How to Get There:

If you are coming from the Juan Santamaría International Airport, take the Inter American Highway south to Cartago. Continue past Cartago on the Inter American Highway, south to San Isidro de El General, about 2 hours. Once in San Isidro, turn left at Maxi Bodega (past the second bridge) and continue to the town of Rivas (about 10 kilometers). At Rivas follow the sign to Parque Nacional Chirripó (turning right) and continue for about 6 kilometers. Passing the village of Chimirol, following the sign to the right with the MA logo, cross the bridge 100 meters away and the gates to Monte Azul are immediately following.
