| The Large Villa, was originally designed as a home !! The contemporary design allows our guests the option of enjoying any one of the private villas or studios, or of combining the units through a series of Japanese gardens, patios and walkways to accommodate the needs of larger groups. Makanda's open air design enhances the views while taking advantage of the Pacific breezes. The first structure at Makanda by the Sea was the Large Villa, originally designed as a home. This villa now hosts three attractive studios, 2, 3 and 4, on the lower level and the larger "Villa 1" on the upper level. The design allows the guests to enjoy a private room or combine them through a series of Japanese gardens and patio walkways for large groups.

| Large Villas with sixteen foot vaulted ceilings !! The other Villas, 5 and 6, are independently set in the forests along the mountain side. Expansive bi-fold doors open onto large balconies, making nature part of the home. From each private balcony to the king size beds, the closeness of the jungle is present. The full kitchens to the bathrooms, forest and ocean views keep your eyes fixed on the windows. Large Villas with sixteen foot vaulted ceilings, a large sofa, hand-crafted tiles and exotic hardwoods add just the right touch to make your stay in the jungle one of elegance. While also boasting an ocean view, Villa 7 is unique in that it is a bedroom suite built next to the pool and is really set into the heart of the jungle.
