How to Get There:

Golfito
It takes between five and seven hours driving from San José. Travel through the Pan American highway through San José-Cartago -Cerro de la Muerte-San Isidro-Dominical-Palmar Norte. From Palmar Norte, proceed South on the Pan-American highway for 30 miles past Chacarrita to Villa Briceño (Km. 37). Watch out for the sign at the turn-off. Follow the level dirt road through La Gamba to the lodge (3 miles).

All rates are in USD per room per night and do not include hotel tax of 13%.

All 14 rooms have a private bathroom with hot water shower, ceiling fan and full screening. Each room is decorated with colorful materials woven by the Guaymi and Boruca Indians and can be used as a single, double or triple room. Hummingbirds, parrots, toucans and many more of the 300+ species of birds found here frequent the trees and flowers surrounding the seven bungalows.

Esquinas Rainforest Lodge offers a large variety of tours and excursions in Piedras Blancas National Park, in the valley of La Gamba, and in the Golfo Dulce. Since there are no other lodges near us, you will rarely encounter any other tourists on your excursions.

The hotel's restaurant offers haut cuisine praised for refreshing tropical cocktails and fruit juices, fresh exotic vegetables from surrounding gardens and freshly caught fish from Golfo Dulce.

Hidden in the jungle of remote Piedras Blancas National Park in southern Costa Rica, Esquinas Rainforest Lodge is surrounded by thousands of acres of untouched wilderness. They are located near the village of La Gamba, only three miles off the Interamerican Highway and a 30-minute drive from Golfito airport. Esquinas is part of a model project combining conservation, research and community development.
