Join us on our treks through majestic forests which drip with bromeliads and vines and see shy creatures creep through the diverse forest understory. Conduct your own personal study of one of the hundreds of species of flora and fauna which the reserve supports. Participate in a short tropical ecology course in this remote rainforest, and come with us on trips through the largest mangrove forest in Central America. Join us on scuba or snorkeling trips to the clear waters off Isla del Caño, and visit famed Corcovado National Park.

Proyecto Campanario is a conservation initiative begun by a small group of teachers who began their lives in Latin America over 20 years ago with the Peace Corps. The group, as we were, along with some Costa Rican friends, purchased and have continued to maintain a spectacular tract of rainforest just north of Corcovado National Park in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica in order to contribute to global conservation in a personal way. We established the Campanario Biological Reserve and have dedicated our efforts to: Conserve biodiversity, Support tropical research, Promote environmental education.

Meet Mother Nature face-to-face !!
Campanario is located south of Drake Bay, and within walking distance of famed Corcovado National Park. You will find yourself in the heart of of the tropical rainforest with no roads, no crowds, and no smog. The field station, open to eco-tourists and student groups, is rustic, but comfortable, with a large kitchen and dining hall, screened-in bunkrooms, showers, flush toilets, washing sinks, and a large front porch with a great view and a stone's throw from the beach. Solar panels provide lighting in the evenings, and there is a celular phone for necessary communication with the outside world.

Campanario has 3 basic offerings  to provide you the opportunity to explore and learn about the wealth and beauty of the tropical wet forest, as well as relax far from "civilization".

Eco-tourist Trips:  custom trips for a minimum of four days and three nights, with options for side trips, activities, and additional days and nights.

Rainforest Conservation Camps:  special six days and five nights programms for families and youth looking for a vacation with a purpose.

Tropical Ecology Courses:  workshops, discussions, and hands-on learning experiences for students of all ages, the intense "field trip".
