Manuel Antonio beach is one of the few places in Costa Rica where unspoiled forest grows right to the beach. There are several trails through the forest offering sightings of white-faced monkeys, spider monkeys, sloths and birds of many colors. Visitors can relax on an elegant beach among the orchids and watch the parrots fly over as the monkeys hop from tree to tree. One day or half day tours available too.

How to Get There:

Quepos, Manuel Antonio
The trip takes approximately 3 hours driving from San José.
Drive on the Panamerican highway, and follow it to the international airport. From the international airport, drive to La Garita, where you turn left and continue to Turrucares. Once you arrive Turrucares, take the highway #27 to Caldera. Once you arrive Orotina continue until the next toll station. Just after this toll station turn right, where you see the sign to Jaco. Continue over this coastal road to Tarcoles, Jaco until you reach Quepos.

Take the exit to Quepos. Once in Quepos downtown turn left past the small park and drive up the mountain about 4 kilometers towards the Manuel Antonio National Park.
