From the San Jose International Airport to Hotel Bougainvillea take the highway going towards San Jose; at first traffic light go straight. (you will see the HAMPTON INN Hotel on your left)
After 4.5 km, (about 1/3 of a mile) you will see the BRIDGESTONE / FIRESTONE tire factory. About 1 km after this factory, you will see a pedestrian crossing bridge right over the highway, exactly 2.5 km AFTER this bridge (do take into account this distance as there are no other reference points) stay right, you will see a BUS STOP and right after this bus stop there is an exit to the right. Take that exit, it will take you to a traffic light to go over the highway on a one way bridge. Keep going straight after the bridge and you will arrive at a stop sign, there is a Texaco gas station on your right. Turn right at the stop.
Keep on this same road, and approximately after 3 km you will find a series of factories: COCORISA, and soon after the POZUELO factory, drive about two more blocks' distance. Stay in the middle lane and you will see a traffic light
Right after the light, the street turns into a one way street. As soon as you can after that light, go all the way to the left AND make a sharp left (there is a white wall on the right. This is the cemetery called JARDINES DEL RECUERDO).
This will take you into a wide one way three lane street, go to the far right lane as soon as you can in order turn right at the traffic light. After approximately 3 km (drive past the Megasuper, 3M Factory, Yale, and INBioparque), at the first STOP sign (this is the intersection with the road to San Jose), please drive straight. Take your second left. After this, drive straight and take the second right (at corner of FARMACIA SANTO TOMAS, which has a large sign) and you will see the Hotel Bougainvillea on your left after about 1 km. (3/4 of a mile). The hotel is located in Santo Tomas de Santo Domingo de Heredia. Should you need to, ask someone in the vicinity if you are close by!

Rooms are large with two double beds, a sitting area and the full range of facilities. Each has a balcony offering marvelous views of the mountains one one side and the San JosÃ(c) skyline on the other. Most of our rooms have free wi-fi internet access.
Each of the 81 rooms has twin double beds, tub or shower, and a separate seating area. There are also four Junior suites and two rooms for the disabled. The furniture is especially made of Costa Rican hardwoods, and all rooms have cable T.V. and direct dial telephones.
