With the commitment to provide the best in guest services, we will be more than happy to assist you with any tours to the surrounding areas in Costa Rica through our experienced tour desk run by representatives of Expediciones Tropicales, a local tour operator. Expediciones Tropicales will be happy to help you with any arrangements you may want to make for day trips, car rentals or hotel reservations outside of San José. Other tours of interest include the Arenal Volcano at night for incredible views of this active volcano, Pacific Coast tours by boat, and the exciting Canopy Tour. Conference Rooms The hotel proximity to San Jose and the International Airport allows to host midsize meetings and social gatherings in an area of serenity as well as courteous and professional staff to assist you during your event. Opening off the restaurant area, there is one of the hotel's larger spaces available for special gatherings such as business conventions, luncheons, dinners and social events. All meeting rooms are air conditioned and fully equipped. Three of them have private entrances so participants can easily walk to the garden during breaks. This is very convenient for private consultation and informal talks, which often produce results over formal decisions. Every single aspect is geared to facilitate the meeting progress and to ease the stress and tension produced by business gathering. An occasion for an early morning swim or sauna; a brisk walk on the trails; or a tennis set after a day of meetings is comfortably available while staying at the Bougainvillea.

Just off the lobby, the Hotel Bougainvillea offers you the graceful charm of our Vitrales Restaurant and bar; serving continental, international, and Costa Rican cuisine to the delight of our guests. The atmosphere is unperturbed, with friendly and superb service.
Our maitre d' hotel seats our guests in a tastefully decorated dining room, either at a front window table or at a table with views of softly-lighted paintings of traditional Costa Rican scenery-on tile, in oils and watercolors.

Here you will easily forget that you are just 15 minutes from downtown or the airport San Jose. Set amidst the coffee farms of Santo Domingo de Heredia, the hotel has extensive areas dominated by tall trees and brightened by plentiful flowers. In Hotel Bougainvillea we offer you the chance to enjoy our country from the first minute of your vacation. Hotel Bougainvillea has the charm of a family owned and operated hotel. Every detail of the hotel and restaurant is personally supervised by owner Hans van der Wielen, who brought his experience and style when he came to Costa Rica in 1961.
