If you are coming from the Juan Santamaría International Airport, take the Inter American Highway northwest to Liberia. The trip is 135 miles and should take around 4 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive Liberia you will see a traffic light on the highway with 2 gas stations, a Burger King and a Papa John's on the corners. In Liberia , take road 21 southwest to Belen. Turn right in Belen and drive to Huacas which is about half an hours drive. From there you will make a left and follow the signs to Tamarindo, about 35 minutes.
