| Rincón de la Vieja National Park !! In the Rincón de la Vieja National Park you can observe a large number of Guaria Morada, Costa Rica's national flower, with it's spectacular purple and white flower. Check out the fascinating lines of leaf cutter ants, and follow them to their massive nests, they're like nothing you've ever seen before. The Hacienda Guachipelin offers several distinct tours into the Rincón de la Vieja National Park, Canopy tours, horseback riding and mountain biking tours. The most popular outing is to the Las Pailas sector, with it's impressive and constant fumarole activity. More adventurous travelers can hike all the way to the volcano's principal crater. If you want to really enjoy the variety and abundance of nature found here, try the hike to Cangreja Falls at Blue Lake. |
