How to Get There:

The Trapp Family Lodge is located in Monteverde. If you drive to Monteverde from San Jose you need to take the Inter American Highway, the same one that passes Juan Santamaría International Airport, and follow the signs to Puntarenas and then to Cañas and Bagaces. Stay on this road and right before the bridge at Río Lagartos there is a gravel road to the right. At this point you will have travelled 100 miles (160 km) from San Jose. Take this right turn and travel 22 miles (35 km) of gravel road all the way up to Santa Elena and Monteverde. Once you get to the Village of Santa Elena you will travel 2.5 miles (4 km) towards Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Once at Santa Elena you will see a sign for Trapp Family Lodge.
