Famous for being a white water rafting hotspot and base camp, this town lies 53 km east of the capital city San Jose. Other surrounding features include Guayabo Arqueological Monument, Turrialba Volcano and activities such as horseback riding, hiking trails, canyoning, waterfall rappelling, hot-air balloon flights, mountain biking and jungle expeditions.
