From the Ciudad Quesada nine kms. northeast to La Marina.

La Marina Hotsprings are located at 600 metres above sea level, right on the northern foothill of Platanar Volcano (2,183 metres above sea level), with small hot-water springs. They are generaly used for treating stress, muscular pains, arthritis, obesity and skin problems. The recommended practice is a 30-40- minute bath in hot water followed by a 5-minute bath in cold water. These waters, which are mainly found in fault regions, are used as a tourist attraction by the hotels in the area. In Costa Rica there are hot springs at Aguacaliente de Cartago, in Orosí at the foot of Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, at Quebrada Grande in Herradura (the River General Valley) and here at La Marina.
