Limón

This protects the upper basin of the river of the same name. Conserving the forests of this basin is of particular importance in the protection of aquifers that supply the city of Limón with water. This protection zone is mainly covered in very moist tropical forest, which mostly corresponds to the tropical wet forest, premontane belt transition life zone. Some dirt tracks leave La Bomba and go very near the boundaries of this protection zone.
