Playa Panama Playa Panama, just north of Hermosa, is the location of some resorts that were part of the planned Cancún-like mega-resort development known as Papagayo. Expensive and expansive, the project has been delayed for years by lawsuits and other impediments, but several large and beautiful hotels are open.
