Guanaste and Alajuela are Costa Ricas vacation lands !!
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined. ~ Walden, Henry David Thoreau, 1817-1862This section of the country contains arid land and sprawling cattle ranches, a windswept lake, cloud-shrouded forest preserves, deep caves with thousands of bats, mangrove swamps, indigenous Indian reserves, active volcanoes, flat land, deep valleys, mountains and a shoreline pounded by waves.
The territory borders Nicaragua to the north and the Central Valley to the south. For organizational purposes, the area we are covering in this section looks somewhat like a slice of pizza with one end of the crust at Santa Rosa Park on the Pacific, and the other at Los Chiles border crossing. The pointy end is above San Ramón and Zarcero. The slice covers most of Guanacaste and Alajuela provinces.
